We had no fewer than seven games to bring you today from across the country.

It was the last chance saloon for London, Cavan, Waterford, Offaly, Laois, Antrim, Longford and Carlow in this year's football championship while Roscommon and Sligo battled it out for a place in this year's Connacht SFC final at Markievicz Park this evening (7pm).

Mayo awaited the winners in the Nestor Cup decider and it was interesting to see if the Yeats County could trouble John Evans' pre-match favourites.

In hurling, there was the intriguing Leinster SHC semi-final clash of Laois and Galway in O'Connor Park Tullamore (5pm).

We also kept you up to speed with what was going with Dublin and Westmeath who did battle in the Leinster MHC semi-final at Cusack Park.
