Mayo joint manager Pat Holmes admits that they have plenty to work on ahead of the Connacht SFC final.

The defending provincial champions saw off the challenge of Galway in the semi-final last Sunday and although obviously delighted with the win, Holmes states in the Western People that they will need to improve if they are to retain their title.

"We learned that we have to improve a lot if we're going to win a Connacht final against Roscommon or Sligo," stated Holmes.

"We made a lot of mistakes in the first half. We were probably lucky to go in level at half time in some ways because we conceded a number of chances to Galway which they didn't take, so that's something we have to work on over the next five weeks."

Mayo will face the winners of Sligo and Roscommon who met at Markievicz Park on Saturday evening, with the final not due to be played on Sunday, July 19th.
