A Bernard Deay goal after just 10 seconds set Kildare up for another win in Division 2B of the Allianz Hurling League at the expense of Mayo.

The Lilywhites went on to lead by 2-8 to 0-4 after 20 minutes and by 2-11 to 0-6 at half-time.

Mayo improved after the restart, but their fate was sealed when Johnny Byrne grabbed Kildare's third goal six minutes from time to extend their advantage to 3-17 to 0-13.
