14 counties are represented on our football team of the week ...

1. Gary Connaughton (Westmeath)

Darren Quinn's groin injury opened the door for the former All-Star to return between the posts for Westmeath and he came to his side's rescue on more than one occasion in Newbridge.

2. Jason McLoughlin (Cavan)

Cavan suffered a first defeat in Division 2 at home to Down but no finger of blame could be pointed in the direction of their rampaging corner-back.

3. Barry O'Farrell (Longford)

O'Farrell and his defensive team-mates, especially the half-back line trio of Colm P Smyth, Diarmuid Masterson and Enda Williams, performed well as a unit to keep London at bay in Ruislip on Saturday.

4. Daithi Brady (Offaly)

Ballyfore's Brady impressed in the full-back line as Pat Flanagan's Offaly players continued on their merry winning ways with a 12-point victory over Wicklow in Aughrim.

5. Frank McGlynn (Donegal)

The break away in Dubai did McGlynn and Donegal no harm at all if yesterday's display against previously unbeaten Cork is anything to go by.

6. Jack Sherwood (Kerry)

Produced a rock solid display in the heart of the Kerry defence as Dublin left Killarney empty-handed following an ill-tempered Division 1 clash.

7. Sean Leo McGoldrick (Derry)

Raided forward in the 61st minute to give the Oak Leafers the lead for the first time against Tyrone in Healy Park but had to settle for a share of the spoils at the final whistle.

8. Sean Gannon (Carlow)

The Eire Og player raised three white flags as the Barrowsiders' came from behind to deny Waterford in Dungarvan on Saturday evening.

9. David Moran (Kerry)

The All-Star laid solid foundations for Kerry's victory over Dublin with a dominant showing around the middle third of the field and also got in on the scoring act with a point.

10. Micheal McKenna (Armagh)

The Orchard county forward tormented the Limerick defence and sent over six points in Kilmallock as Kieran McGeeney's men made it three wins from as many outings.

11. Aidan O'Shea (Mayo)

On a day when conditions made it difficult for both sets of players, O'Shea made his physical presence count and scored 1-3 against Monaghan in Castlebar.

12. Shane McGrath (Clare)

Five points from the half-forward saw him share top scoring honours with Pat Burke as the Banner County returned to winning ways in Division 3 at Sligo's expense.

13. CJ McGourty (Antrim)

McGourty led the Antrim attack in fine style against Leitrim, raising a total of eight flags (six frees).

14. Sean Quigley (Fermanagh)

Pete McGrath's side are breathing down Armagh's neck at the top of the Division 3 table and Quigley continued his rich vein of scoring form with 1-5 against Tipperary.

15. Donal O'Hare (Down)

The Burren forward's 63rd minute goal sent the Mourne County on the road to a Division 2 victory over Cavan in Kingspan Breffni Park on Saturday evening.
