Alan Dillon will wait until next year before deciding whether or not to tog out with Mayo for a 13th season.

Dillon was a central player in Ballintubber's brilliant Connacht club semi-final win over St Brigid's at the weekend, but he says he hasn't really given any thought to his intercounty future:

"I haven't talked to Noel [Connelly] or Pat [Holmes] yet, though I know a couple of the lads met up last weekend," he says in The Irish Independent. "We'll see when the club finishes. We'll enjoy Christmas and see then after the new year."

The Mayo champions have seen off the last two provincial club champions - Castlebar Mitchells in their county final and St Brigid's - to qualify for a mouth-watering Connacht decider against Corofin and Dillon is looking forward to the contest:

"That will give us huge confidence going into the final. We were unfortunate in that the last two times we won Mayo, we got turned over by Killererin and Corofin.

"That left a sour taste because we were seen as a team that could win a county but could never progress in Connacht. The goal this year is to win as much as we can, and we are now 60 minutes away from a Connacht title."
