The Moclair Cup is bound for Ballintubber for the third time since 2010 after early goals from brothers Padraic and Cillian O'Connor set them up for victory over holders and last season's beaten All-Ireland club finalists Castlebar at Elvery's MacHale Park.

Along with their siblings Diarmuid and Ruaidhri, Padraic and Cillian scored six of Ballintubber's nine goals in their semi-final rout of Knockmore, and the latter two picked up from where they left off by finding the net in the fifth and ninth minutes to wipe out Mitchel's early two-point lead.

Ballintubber went on to lead by 2-2 to 0-6 at the break as the town side got themselves back into it with points from Richie Feeney, Niall Lydon, Fergal Durkan and Eoghan O'Reilly.

Despite playing into the stiff breeze in the second half, Castlebar drew level in the 39th minute when big Barry Moran fisted to the net. Crucially, though, the winners were able to reply with a brace of points from Diarmuid O'Connor.

Further efforts from Alan Dillon, Padraic O'Connor and Cillian O'Connor ensured Ballintubber repeated their 2010 and 2011 final victories over Castlebar. Next up for the new champions is a Connacht club semi-final date with St. Brigid's of Roscommon on November 9.
