The newly-crowned Rose of Tralee pinned her colours firmly to the mast by pulling on a Mayo jersey where she was presented to the crowd at half-time in today's All-Ireland SFC semi-final.

There is clearly no divided loyalty between Kerry and Mayo for Philadelphia Rose Maria Walsh who was crowned the 56th Rose of Tralee on Tuesday night. Ms Walsh was born in Boston, but grew up in Shrule, Co Mayo. She emigrated to New York three years ago to work in the fashion industry and moved to Philadelphia where she now works as a fashion brand manager for Anthropologie.

Ms Horan made headlines yesterday when she revealed that she is gay.
