Football top scorers: O'Connor and Sweeney lead the way

There are plenty of flags being raised on the sideline and by umpires in championship 2014
Mayo's Cillian O'Connor and Con Sweeney of Tipperary are the leading scorers in football championship 2014.

Sweeney was the top scorer in the leagues as well and he scored 2-2 in his county's win over Laois on Saturday.

O'Connor bagged 0-8 as Mayo won a fourth consecutive Connacht title.

Fermanagh's Sean Quigley has the highest average score per game so far with 11.5.

Sweeney with 3-7 is the leadings scorer from play.

He also has three goals to his name, as do Quigley and Meath's Michael Newman.

The highest individual game tally so far belongs to Quigley (2-8 v Laois).
