Andy Moran says it's a pleasure to train under Donie Buckley.
The former All Star, who has battled back from a cruciate ligament injury to make the Mayo bench for Sunday's Connacht SFC opener against Galway in Salthill, said of the former Kerry coach in the Irish Independent: "Donie is very different. He's a unique character, but what a man. To be honest, I just absolutely love being back training under him. He's a complete football man. I wouldn't have a bad word to say about him.
"He's football orientated completely. It's his humour, his wit, his way of teaching. He's just a very good man to put stuff across. It probably took us a month or two to get used to Donie after Cian (O'Neill) left, but since I came back I just find him a revelation.
"He's helping me with my shooting, my tackling and everything really, including my head.
"He's a great man if you miss a shot, he helps you psychologically. He's just a breath of fresh air around the place. All the boys have really taken to him, he's been excellent.
"I think his search for knowledge continues on a daily basis. He'd even ring you asking you questions about the session and where it could improve. When you have a fellow with that sort of humility then you're always going to improve."
