Ladies football round-up: Staunton sinks holders
April 29, 2013

Mayo's Cora Staunton
Cora Staunton single-handedly dethroned Monaghan as Division 1 league holders at Ballinamore yesterday.
The Carnacon ace - arguably ladies football's greatest ever player - scored all of her side's tally of 1-10 as they caused a surprise against last year's winners.
Mayo overturned a 0-3 to 0-6 half-time deficit when wind-assisted in the second half and prevailed on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-9.
The Connacht county will meet Cork in the decider as the Leesiders got the better of Laois - 4-12 to 2-8 - in the other semi-final at Sean Treacy Park in Tipperary town.
Valerie Mulcahy scored 3-5 for the Rebelettes.
Meanwhile, Galway and Kerry will meet in the Division 2 decider. A late free from Edel Concannon earned Galway a narrow 2-9 to 2-8 win over Kildare at Banagher while Kerry scored a comfortable 3-16 to 0-6 victory over Westmeath in Tipperary town.
Armagh and Down will contest the Division 3 decider after they negotiated the semi-final hurdles of Tipperary and Longford respectively.
