Stephen Coen was impressed by the attitude and work rate Mayo demonstrated in their victory over Meath.
The league holders had to dig deep to come away from Navan with both points on Sunday, a late 1-2 salvo from substitute Kevin McLoughlin repelling the hosts’ barnstorming second-half revival:
“A big point that James [Horan, manager] made was graft and he’s spot on. It’s awful important in Division One,” Coen comments in The Irish Daily Star.
“A lot of these games are won by attitude and work rate and I think we displayed that against Meath. Overall, we just worked hard in that game and thankfully got the win.”
