James Horan has refused to be drawn on speculation that All Star defender Colm Boyle suffered a season-ending cruciate ligament injury in last weekend's defeat to Dublin.
“He’s working with the medical team at the moment. He’s got a bad knee injury. I haven’t got confirmation of it yet,” the Mayo manager told the Irish Times after his side's win over Meath.
Horan was delighted to come away from Navan with a first Allianz League victory after substitute Kevin McLoughlin's late 1-2 salvo proved decisive.
“Two points under those conditions away from home against a team that was hurting and gave everything to it and considering then where we were with 10/12 minutes to go," he said.
"The crowd behind them, wind behind them, they were winning the breaks and we still dug it out."
