The fallout from the Mayo ladies football row should have been “nipped in the bud”, according to Dublin ace Lyndsey Davey.
The rumour mill went into overdrive following the much publicised walkout of 12 players from the Mayo squad mid-championship and the row is still rumbling on.
“I kind of think it should have been something that was nipped in the bud earlier on, because people weren’t really saying what happened,” All-Ireland winner Davey outlined to The Irish Daily Star.
“Speculation kind of got into it then, and people said, ‘Well, this happened’ or ‘that happened’.
“Nobody really knew bar the players and the management what happened but I think had things been released earlier and people put out their statements and nipped it in the bud that it wouldn’t have exploded up as much as it has.”
