ISSC Vancouver and Mayo’s Breaffy GAA, together with the Gavin Family, are in the process of arranging a challenge match against ISSC Vancouver in Breaffy on December, 29.

Both ISSC Vancouver and Breaffy GAA are keen to strengthen links between the two clubs and also come together to commemorate David Gavin after his passing last year.

26-year-old David from Castlebar was involved in a tragic diving incident that occurred at Kinbasket Lake Resort near Golden, British Columbia in Canada on Friday, June 30, 2017.

The former Mayo minor footballer was on his way with his team-mates to play for the Vancouver Irish Sporting & Social GAA Club (ISSC) in the Western Canadian Championship, which was due to take place in Calgary, Alberta.

The 10-month long search for his remains came to an end back in April.

More details on the Memorial match will be available in the coming weeks.
