Ballintubber and Breaffy booked their Mayo SFC semi-final places yesterday with victories over Moy Davitts and Westport respectively.
Cillian O'Connor (0-7) and Alan Plunkett (1-3) were in fine scoring form for Ballintubber in their 2-17 to 0-11 defeat of last year's intermediate champions Moy Davitts. Former county star Alan Dillon also netted late in the first half to help the winners to a 2-10 to 0-8 interval lead.
Moy Davitts finished with 14 players after Conall Quinn received a second yellow card in the 52nd minute.
Breaffy are also through after withstanding a second half comeback from James Horan's Westport to win by the narrowest of margins, 0-11 to 0-10.
With Conor O'Shea and 'keeper Rob Hennelly posting 0-7 between them, Breaffy led by 0-9 to 0-5 at the break, but following the dismissal of Matthew Ruane early in the second half, Westport rallied to level with 15 minutes to go. However, a late free from Hennelly, which was brought forward after Lee Keegan stopped his county team-mate Aidan O'Shea from taking a quick free, gave Breaffy the win.
