Carnacon are set to bring an appeal against their recent expulsion from the Mayo ladies senior football championship before the Connacht LGFA tonight.

The reigning Mayo, Connacht and All-Ireland club champions were thrown out of the competition during last week's meeting of the county board as a result of the walk-out by a number of their players from the county panel back in June.

The club were cited under Rule 288 of the LGFA, which states that "any member of the Association found guilty of conduct calculated to bring the Association into disrepute shall be liable to expulsion or suspension".

A statement from the club in the days which followed said that it was "devastated" by the board's decision and indicated that they would be appealing to the provincial body.
