GAA on TV this weekend: four games to watch

This weekend will provincial finals in Ulster and Leinster plus two more football qualifiers broadcast live.

Saturday sees the intriguing clash between Tipperary and Armagh in Round 3B of the football qualifiers. The two have history from earlier in the year when Tipp scored an injury time goal to deny the Orchard promotion in the league.

Monaghan will be huge favourites to end Carlow footballers' odyssey in the second game on Saturday.

Sunday sees live coverage of provincial football finals in Ulster and Leinster. Both games see underdogs up against raging favourites.

TG4's history of the GAA continues is on at 8.30pm on Sunday with the Sunday Game at 9.30pm.

On Monday night GAA 2017 on TG4 features senior and minor highlights at 8pm.

A continued look at the history of the Gaelic Athletic Association. In the '70s people were murdered in the North for being GAA members, as the 'Ban' was acrimoniously seen off. Fr Tommy Maher's new approach to hurling in Kilkenny brought them into a new battle for dominance with Cork. But the real rivalry of the era was being renewed between Kerry and Dublin.

RTE2, 9.30pm, The Sunday Game

Des Cahill is joined by Dessie Dolan, Pat Spillane and Rory Kavanagh to introduce action from the weekend's football, including Tyrone v Down and v Dublin v Kildare.
