U14 Girls Division 3 League Final full-time result

It was a highly entertaining affair in St. Nicholas GFC, which hosted the Division 3 league final between Hunterstown Rovers/Mattock Rangers and the Dreadnots. There was an excellent display of passing & skill from both teams. The Dreadnots got the scoring underway, sending 3 points sailing over the crossbar in the opening 6 mins. Hunterstown Rovers/Mattock Rangers combo missed some great early scoring chance, playing against a strong wind in the 1st half. Hunterstown/Mattock had an opportunity to draw level with the Dreadnots with an Abbie Sheridan goal, unfortunately it was sent straight across the net. It was Abbie Sheridan again who broke through the Dreadnots defence making a superb pass to Amy Manning to secure Hunterstown/Mattock 1st point of the game. This was quickly followed by Hunterstown/Mattocks  Kerrie- Ann Lane who scored the 1st goal of the game from a well received Amy Manning pass, giving the Mid-Louth set up the lead for the first time. Goalkeeper Holly Murphy made some brilliant saves and kick outs to keep the Hunterstown/Mattock set up in the game. The Dreadnots replied back by securing a further 3 points, giving them a 2 point lead going into half-time.

Hunterstown/Mattock showed their dominance in the 2nd half, with some excellent passing and defensive work from the half and full back lines, which prevented the Dreadnots from registering any score in the 2nd half. Aine Fannin secured 2 points in the the opening two minutes of the 2nd half. Followed by an Amy Manning goal in the 32nd minute and an Abbie Sheridan goal in the 34th minute, who made up for an earlier missed opportunity. Kerrie-Ann Lane and Aine Fannin who continued the scoring for Hunterstown/Mattock securing 3 points between them  in the 41st,  45th and 46th minute. Followed by another Amy Manning point in the 48th minute.
