Naomh Fionnbarra Club Notes

There was no jackpot winner in Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. and St. Anne's Cammogie Club Lotto draw held on Wednesday 18th February.  The winning numbers were 1, 18, 21 & 22. There was 1 match 3 winner - James Markey, Ardballon who each won €150.  Next weeks draw takes place on Wednesday 25th February and the jackpot rises to €9,400.   Tickets are available from the usual local outlets, Lotto sellers and any committee member.

The Senior mens team played in Round 2 of the Paddy Sheelan Cup v Hunterstown Rovers in John Markey Park, Ballygassan on Sunday.  The lads recorded a good win with a scoreline of 1-9(12) to 0-7(7).  The lads are out again next Friday at 8:00pm away v Clogherhead Dreadnots in Clogherhead.  Adult team training continues on Tuesday evening 7:30-8:30pm and Sunday morning.  All players welcome. 

The club also held a well attended Membership Registration Day for all members (Men, Ladies & Juveniles) on Sunday 22nd February between 12 - 2pm in the Dillonstown Hall.  The proposed plans for the development of adjacent lands were on show on the day.  Please don't forget that club membership is now due for 2015 and may be paid to any committee member.

Ladies team training continues on Monday and Friday evenings at 7:30-8:30pm.  All ladies players welcome. 

Well done to our club committee member Mark McArdle who takes part in the finale of RTE's Operation Transformation this week.   Mark's achievements over the last number off weeks have been a testament to his dedication, hard work & commitment.  Well done Mark.

Our Last Man Standing Competition for the National Football League re-commences after a 2 week break.  Going into round 3 of the league there are only 11 people left standing! 

Well done to Ben Devlin who received for the Drogheda Independent Sportstar of the month award for March 2014 following his handball exploits.

Well done to Conor Lenihan who played full back on the DKIT Freshers College team that beat IT Tralee in the semi final of the Division 2 All-Ireland Championship recently.  DKIT Freshers will now play either St. Pats Drumcondra or Mary Immaculate Limerick which is pencilled down for Thursday February 26th.

A further well done to Hugh Osborne who played corner back on the Louth Minor team against Meath & Tipperary in the Leinster Minor League recently.
