CRAOBH CHIARAIN 0-7

A late Dean Carolan point sent Oliver Plunketts through to the quarter-final of the Leinster Junior Championship at the expense of Dublin representatives, Craobh Chiarain.

The game in Drogheda on Saturday afternoon was played in very poor conditions but the Louth champions showed great character to get over the line by a single point.

Just as in the drawn game a week earlier, this replay proved to be a very close affair with the teams trading points through the game and they couldn't be separated at the break as they went in level at five points apiece.

The second half followed a similar pattern and extra time looked a real possibility when the game was tied at seven points each entering the closing stages. However, Dean Carolan popped up to score what proved to be the winner.

In a game where Stephen Keeley was in fine form for the winners, the visitors kicked 14 wides as opposed to three from Oliver Plunketts.

As a result, the Plunketts will face Westmeath champions, Moate, at home in the next round.
