St Fechins continued their quest for a league and championship double when victory over St Mochtas on Friday evening put them just one win away from the Division 2 title.

The Termonfeckin side can guarantee themselves victory and automatic promotion with a victory over St Brides in their final game of the season.

The game in Beaulieu proved to be a competitive affair throughout but it as the Fechins who scored a vital first half goal from Bevan Duffy to lead by 1-6 to 0-5 at the break.

St Mochtas worked hard to remain in conention but a second goal from Ronan Holcroft sealed a 2-9 to 0-11 win.

St Marys booked their place in the promotion play-offs once again when the recorded a comprehensive 2-20 to 1-5 win over newly crowned Junior champions, Oliver Plunketts.

Not surprisingly, it was difficult for the Drogheda side to come down from the high of defeating Glen Emmets and they were no match for a St Marys side who led by 2-10 to 0-2 at the break thanks to goals from Ronan Carroll and Martin Duffy.

The Plunketts did hit back in the second half with a goal from Sean Callaghan, but with Alan Kirk in good form in front of the posts, the Ardee men won comfortably.

Roche Emmets are with a great chance of making the play-offs after recording a 2-17 to 1-19 win over Hunterstown in an entertaining contest on Saturday.

Hunterstown got off to a bright start with Paul Carrie goal that helped his side lead by 1-11 to 1-8 at the break, with Kevin Callaghan hitting the net for the Faughart side.

It was point-for-point for much of the second half but the crucial score came from Barry O'Hare to help secure the win and leave Hunterstown battling to above the relegation spot in the division.

Na Piarsaigh are in contention for a top five finish after 2-15 to 4-7 victory over neighbours, Young Irelands on Thursday night.

Na Piarsaigh got off to the better start and although they were pegged back by a Dermot Mone goal, Alan McCartney responded for the Rock Road men to make it 1-8 to 2-3. However, just before the break Jordan O'Donoghue added another goal to cut the gap to two points.

O'Donoghue and Mark Savage added further goals in the second half but Mark Larkin's three-pointer ensured Na Piarsaigh held out for a vital win.

St Brides claimed an important win in their battle for survival and at the same time confirmed Glyde Rangers' relegation to Division 3 for next season thanks to a 4-17 to 0-7 win.

The first half proved to be a relatively competitive affair with the Knockbridge men going in at the break with a 0-9 to 0-5 lead.

However, the Tallanstown men couldn't cope with the Brides in the second half and goals from Emmet Kirk, Ross Kehoe and Stephen Hilliard (2) completed the win.
