Louth's Shane Lennon was pleased to get 70 minutes under his belt against Donegal.

The injury-plagued Wee County full forward made his first appearance of the year in the Round Six Division Two defeat in Ballyshannon and now hopes to kick on:

"The injury held up okay but I'm still looking for that bit of match sharpness," the Kilkerley Emmets clubman says in The Drogheda Independent.

"I've done eleven-and-a-half weeks' rehab and it was supposed to be twelve, so the surgeon will probably get a shock when I see him this week!

"But it's always a proud day to pull on the Louth jersey and I wanted to put my shoulder to the wheel to try to help Louth stay in Division Two. Hopefully now I can stay fit and drive on for the championship.

"I didn't know how long I'd last but that's a good 70 minutes under my belt and hopefully I'll get more game time next Sunday.

"We don't want to go through the whole campaign without a victory, so we want to beat Meath and get the confidence up going into the championship."
