Knockbridge Hurling notes

April 01, 2014
Senior Team
Our Senior team travelled to Tyrone's centre of excellence in Garvaghy last Sunday for their first competitive game of the year against Burt, Donegal in Division 2 of the Tain League.

Aided by a slight wind the Donegal champions took hold of the game in the first half leading by 9points to 3 points at the interval. Our opening two scores came from Sean Byrne frees and when Ronan Byrne's 21 yard free was saved he was first to react to get our only score from play in the first half.

The second half began much brighter and the gap was cut to just three points when David Dunne found the Burt goal. Shortly after David Dunne again found the net and this was followed up by points from Sean Byrne, Gavin Kane and David Kettle.

With the game entering the final minute Burt lead by a point when James Costello levelled matters with a well taken effort. Both sides had chances maybe to take the full points on offer but a draw was a fair result for both teams who gave great effort in a very competitive game.

The final score was Knockbridge 2-10 Burt 1-13.
