Dublin and Offaly picked up first round wins this afternoon to move into the quarter-finals of the Leinster U20 football championship.
Dublin finished 1-17 to 1-7 winners of Wicklow in Aughrim, where the visitors recovered from an early goal concession to kick on for the 10-point win.
Adam Fearon cancelled out the home side’s early major from Eoin Darcy after three minutes and from there last year’s beaten All-Ireland finalists went on to lead by 1-8 to 1-5 at the break.
Ciaran Archer and Luke Swan were to the fore for the Dubs as they comfortably set-up a date with Longford next Saturday at Parnell Park.
In Dunleer, goals in each half from Sean Courtney proved vital in steering Offaly to a 2-6 to 0-9 victory over hosts Louth.
It was the Wee County that led at by 0-6 to 1-1 at the end of a drab opening half, but within four minutes of the restart Courtney had the ball in their net again as the Faithful men moved towards a last eight meeting with Kildare.
