Geraldines club notes

October 21, 2019

Gers ladies go from strength to strength! Saturday saw our Minors win their first ever Championship against a very tough Ardee St Marys side on a final score of 2-16 to 5-06. In a highly enthralling game, the Gers girls showed great courage and determination to overturn a late 2 point deficit and win the game by a single point. It really was a resolute performance from all of the girls and we are very proud of you all. Well done to all players, the management team and helpers who have been duly rewarded for all of their hard work this year.

While 2019 is starting to wind down, we still have some activity within our juvenile sector and we urge all our supporters and followers to keep an eye on our social media platforms for up to date information. We wish all of our teams the best of luck in their upcoming games. Please support the teams where you can.

Our schools programme has begun its second year, where the club run sessions in the 3 parish schools within Blackrock and Haggardstown, for 1st and 2nd class children. This initiative will run for 12 weeks in total, with 6 sessions per class provided either side of Christmas. Thank you to Frank Lynch & Co for their sponsorship of this programme and to the coaches who volunteer their Friday mornings.

Our Lotto is now a whooping €10,400.00; our jackpot has not been won for several months. We are very grateful to all those who support the Club. The monies raised are vital and enable us to maintain and upgrade our club facilities for all the parish to enjoy. Remember – you need to be in it to win it!!!! €2 could see you €10,400.00 richer!!! We would encourage all our community to support our Club Lotto; thank you to those who already do.

FlashBack Friday…remember to check our social media every Friday to see what trip down memory lane we take!!! Got any old pictures/match programmes of the club; please pass them on!
