Massive congratulations to Louth LGFA and our own Rebecca, Eilis, Lauren and Holly on their All Ireland win on Sunday against Fermanagh. It’s a fantastic achievement for these girls and as a club we are very proud they are on our panel. 2 coaches of Gers and Louth supporters travelled to watch the game in Croke Park. We are sure our young players were inspired by the team’s efforts and may one day play in Croke Park themselves.

When a community comes together ‘Mighty’ things can happen. Our arrangements for the forthcoming ‘Mighty Marquee’ are going brilliantly with the weekend is fast approaching. Please join us for the fun and craic as we deliver Strictly Come Dancing ‘Gers Style’ and our own version of the Oscars; Friday 27th and Sat 28th Sept. Our seniors next game will be Friday 20th September when they will play Naomh Mairtin at 830pm in Stabannon Parnells in the Senior Championship Semi-final. Please come out and support the team as they try to reach the Senior Final.

Unfortunately our Juniors championship journey has come to an end after a loss to the Pats today in the championship semi-final. A tough game but it just wasn’t these boys day. Well done to all the players and management on their efforts this season.

There are lots of key underage matches taking place this coming week and we wish all of our teams the very best of luck as they play league semi-finals and championship games. Details of all upcoming matches can be found on our social media platforms and as always we urge friends and families of the Gers Community to show their support for our teams where you can. Our Lotto is now €9,000.00; our jackpot has not been won for several months. We are very grateful to all those who support the Club. The monies raised are vital and enable us to maintain and upgrade our club facilities for all the parish to enjoy. Remember – you need to be in it to win it!!!! €2 could see you €9,000.00 richer!!!
