AGM: Our AGM was held last Friday night in our clubrooms with the biggest attendance seen for a long while. Before the meeting a minute silence was held for all deceased members and associates of the club. Chairman David Neasy thanked Secretary Brian Kearney and Treasurer Martin O’Hanrahan for presenting excellent reports. He also thanked outgoing Youth Officer Pauline Kearney for her report and all her help for the last two years as she was stepping down from her post. The chairman also thanked the outgoing committee and Christy Kearney and Sean Mulligan who look after the clubrooms and field management. He stated that due to work and family commitments he would be standing down from his post and wished the new chairman the best for the coming year ahead. Officers elected on the night were, Chairman: Anthony Agnew, Secretary: Brian Kearney, Treasurer: Martin O’Hanrahan, Assistant Treasurer: David Dunne, P.R.O. Aidan Murtagh, Coaching Officer: Jackie Agnew, Club Registrar/Membership Brian Kearney/ Joanne O’Dwyer, Cultural / ASAP Officer: Pearse McGeough, Safety / Development Officer: Declan Byrne. Committee: Seamus Cairns, Declan Hoey, Jim Ryan, Sean Cairns, Sean Mulligan, Damien Kearney, David Fury. New Honorary President: Gerry McGrory. Membership fees for 2019, Adult €50, U18 €25, OAP €25.

 

Bingo: Bingo will continue in our clubrooms this Wednesday 5th December at 8.00pm, jackpot €1,100 in 48 numbers.

 

Garda: Congratulations to one of our players David Hoey who became a member of the Garda Siochana last Friday at the passing out ceremony in Templemore. Good luck with the new career David from all at O’Connells GFC.

 

Final: Best of luck to Dundalk Young Irelands in the Leinster Junior Final in Drogheda on Saturday.

 

Louth: Best of luck to Wayne Kierans and the Louth team as they begin their O’Byrne Cup campaign.

 

Social Dancing: There will be social dancing on Saturday 15th December in our clubrooms from 9.00pm, music by Unity, admission €10 and refreshments will be served.

 

Slimming World: Slimming World will be in our clubrooms every Monday from 7.00pm with consultant Debbie 087-250162.
