AGM: Our annual general meeting will take place this Friday 30th November at 8pm in our clubrooms, all players, members and intending members are requested to attend. This is your chance to have a say about anything in the club from how it is run to the way the team plays, or maybe you want to come on board the committee or share some of your ideas to help the club. This is the night to do it, so if you’re interested come along.

 

40th: Belated congratulations to one of our players Keith Woods who celebrated his 40th birthday recently. Keith reached this milestone while severing with the Irish Army on peace keeping duty. Congratulations Keith from all at O’Connells GFC.

 

Bingo: Bingo will continue in our clubrooms this Wednesday 28th November at 8.00pm, jackpot €1,000 in 48 numbers. Congratulations to the lady from Castlebellingham who won our previous jackpot of €6,800. 

 

Managers: Louth GAA have appointed former O’Connells manager Fergus Flynn from Mattock Rangers as the new Louth U17 manager for 2019 and have also appointed former Armagh senior hurler and footballer Paul McCormack as the Louth Senior Hurling manager for 2019. O’Connells GFC wishes both men every success for the 2019 season.

 

Ogsport: Ogsport Lú will hold a review meeting on Tuesday 4th December at 7.30pm in Darver. On the agenda is: U8/U10 Pre Season in DKIT Sport; U7/8/9/10 Regional Blitzes; U7/8/9/10/11 All County Blitzes; U11 League; U8/U10/U11 Winter Program and any other business. If any coaches would like to email or text Mairead Monahan with feedback in advance of the meeting it would be appreciated, phone 0877560393, email: [email protected]. Clubs can also inform Mairead if they are interested in taking part in U8/U10 2019 Pre Season Games in DKIT Sport. The proposal is to run the U10s over 8 weeks throughout February and March and the U8s for 4 weeks throughout March.                                                                                                                                       

Louth: If Louth beat Wexford in the first round of the Leinster SFC next year they will have a home game against Dublin – in Portlaoise! The wee county will have to travel over 100 miles to face the five-in-a-row chasing All-Ireland champions.
