Longford centre of excellence
Is it true that the planning permission has been appealed to Bord Planala?

Wicklow Game
Whenever the ball is played into Kavanagh he goes down looking for a free before he even has the ball. The referees have copped onto it. Start him on the bench for the next game it might give him the kick he needs. This game next week will give Ryan the chance to get the players who should be playing, playing!!!! But we all know by now he'll stick with the usual weak links. Danny Keenan might be back in contention for a start!!! Thats great news for all concerned!!!! (Sarcastic)!!

Ryan out!
I think its about time the county board came out and say they made a big mistake in hiring Ryan. If there was relegation from Div 4 we'd be well on course for 2 successful relegations. Along with not winning a Leinster Championship game under him. He's not picking the right players, he's not picking the right tactics, he's simply not up to it in my opinion. Time to pack his bags and leave.

Lads I dont know what yere on about - Kav had perfect ball played into him and wasted
it everytime. So to say he is a good ball winner is not true.

Wicklow Game
Teams have copped on to Kavanagh but he's always had that throughout his short footballing life and i think he maybe needs to be played on the 40 so they could use his direct running at players as an advantage. Also he'd be a good ball winner there and he works hard-pity he's an awful tackler but still one of longford's best players. Play him on the 40 for the first 45 mins and switch him in later to cause some damage while defenders are tiring.

Wicklow Game
Could the loss in form by Kavanagh have anything to do with the fact that every team is playing a second man in front of him.Maybe if the management team changed back to a three man full forward line it would cut this out. From what i heard the whole full forward line had a poor day on Sunday and it wasnt just Kavanagh. If your playing a 2 man full forward line the quality of ball going in must be of a very high standard especially when the opposition plays with a sweeper in front of the full forward line. Over the years Longford have never had anybody who was able to give in quality ball. Longford are all too predictable now and every team knows how to stop them from playing. Longford need to change their tactics and quick!

Is it now 15euro into the stand for a division 4 match?? that is a disgrace, paying a tenner in to see pure tripe is bad enough!!

Wicklow Game
It must be very disheartning for the players to see an empty stand.
I was told that it was €15 to go into the stand as opposed to €10 for the hill - and it was a dry day. That might explain part of it.

Are Longford the worst team in the country ?
Agree with a lot of what Longford1 said but good God we are going through a rough oatch at the moment. Seems like an age since we actually strung a couple of wins together.

I agree with most of the post but at this time of the year not too many need to care about the league as a competiton, the CB only rate them as mickey mouse competitions with the formats that are in place, far too many teams in div 1 ,div 2 may be a bit competitive compared to div 1 but must of the teams are just basicly junior standard ,gandy i persume your from forgney but in fairness dont think your that good as a team, ill judge ye when ye have spent a few years at a higher level, best of luck to ye anyway

I was at the Dromard Killoe game and i have to say that there was at least 3 players there well capablo of starting on the county team and making a difference. For Killoe, Sean McCormack and cousin Joe were excellent and were the key to the Killoe win, while Peter Masterson scored 4 or 5 points from play and ran Killoe ragged all afternoon. Glen Ryan is either asleep or pure ignorant not to consider these players.

Are Longford the worst team in the country ?
They actually played quite well yesterday and were unlucky not to get a result
against Wicklow who area decent side.
We drew with Waterford in a game we dominated and should have won. Waterford
are topping div 4 now and beat Limerick the other night.
Then we actaully WON the game against Limerick, but the ref decided to rule out a
legit goal we scored.....
I'm probably biased but I don't believe that we are as bad as our postion in the table...
we will give Louth a decent game in the Championship and I fancy us to beat them.....

Wicklow Game
In fairness it was a much improved performance yesterday..... and
we were a bit unlucky not to get a result..... our record in losing close games
by one or two points is awful
There were some encouraging signs - the return of David Barden for one, who scored an amazing goal !
Masterson, Smyth, Reilly and McGee were outstanding ....
Im not defending Ryan but 2 things he has got right is that we now have a full back in Masterson
that we hadnt got before. And also he is getting the best out of Dec Reilly playing him picking up
the breaks in Midfield, rather than stuck in the corner....
Trying Maclveney in at full forward was worth a try but it didnt work. He was always behind his man
and won very little ball. Ryan should have made a change there earlier, maybe we would have got a
result.
The loss of form of Brian Kavanagh is now really alarming. He was awful again yesterday. He should have
been subbed in my opinion.
Hanley - what I meant about giving at least 100% is that once they do that as a supporter you can have no
complaints...
There was a very small crowd yesterday. It must be very disheartning for the players to see an empty stand.
I know they are not getting the results at the mintute, but a true 'supporter' gets behind the team in the bad times as
well as good times. Infact the lads need the support now more than ever....

Elmatador, true comment apart from one line where you said the 2 bardens and Martin should be in the full-forward line. I think not, David definitely not, possibly Paul but most certainly Jamesie.
As regards Des Dolan he wouldn't be a bad appointment, especially if he brought his sons. In relation to club managers, I would suggest some as selectors, Liam Belton and Trevor Smullen...one a shrewd operator, the other a former player and now training Ballymahon would have an eye for a good player.
I do think however Dom Corrigan would be a nice appointment, even though he is tied up with Carrigallen!!

Big wins for Killoe, Rathcline and Carrickedmond at the week end. Wudn't have seen that coming. Indeed Carrick gave Cashel an awful hammering. Lynn will have to start pulling rabbits out of hats up there.
Were colmcille missing any one bar the 2 county lads? Fair play to the raths for going up there and winning. Not an easy place to go and get a result.
