Division 3: Dromard 2-07 St Mary's Granard 0-13: Dromard's second string began their league campaign by securing a well-deserved draw against Granard in sunny Pairc na Gael on Saturday evening last. In a closely contested game, Dromard held a slender two point lead at half time with the scoreline standing at 1-5 to 0-6 at the break. The Dromard goal was a well- taken effort by the lively Peadar Kiernan. Granard dominated the early stages of the second half and added some good scores to take a two-point lead mid way through the half. With the visitors on top at this stage in the game, it took a superb double save and clearance by Dromard goalkeeper Oisin Hourican to prevent Granard from extending their lead. Gradually Dromard began to win more possession and an excellent passing move, started by Peter Mimnagh, resulted in an expertly taken goal by Niall McManus who won possession and finished low to the Granard net. Both sides traded points in an exciting finish that saw the teams eventually finish all square. With a full turnout from all players, hopefully the team can build on this very encouraging start to the league in the upcoming matches. Team: Oisin Hourican, Padraig McNerney, Conor Duffy, James Conefrey, Jimmy Kiernan, Ronan Smith, Michael Reynolds, Noel Reynolds, Martin McGee, Peadar Kiernan, Sean McNerney, Fergal Berry, Thomas Conefrey, Peter Mimnagh, Niall McManus.
