Longford's first game is at home to Offaly on February 5th.

Clash of the Townlands Table Quiz: Our Clash of the Townlands Table Quiz night returns for the second year running, it will be held in The Breffni Arms at a date to be confirmed in early Feburary. It was a great night last year and was enjoyed by all. All you need to do is put a team together in your townland (6 per table, €10 a head). The quiz is open to all so you don't have to be from Dromard to enter!

St Francis Dromard Minor Club

Minor AGM: The minor club will be holding their AGM this Sunday the 22nd at 12:30 in the clubhouse. All interested parties please attend.

Dromard Ladies Notes

Senior Training: This commences Fri 20th at 8pm with a fitness workout in the Clubhouse followed by a session on the astroturf on Sun 22nd at 1030am.bAll of last year's senior panel plus minors and U/16's who trained with the senior panel last year are asked to attend and inform us of their intentions for this season. Any Mammys who wish to join this group for the pre season workout are warmly invited  as well as are any girls who are turning 16 this year. The bigger the turnout the better the sessions, so throw off the winter blues and get back into the swing of things. The hardest part is getting yourselves there, after that it's easy.

Teen Fitness: This is up and running again after the Holidays. Every Wednesday in the clubhouse at 5 30 pm. It's a mixed session for Dromard Ladies and the lads from the Minor Club, and runs for an hour. Even if you have no intention of kicking a ball this year you are still invited. It's for all teenage girls and boys and provides a brilliant way to keep in touch with each other and improve your fitness at the same time. No need to book, just turn up on the night.

Birthday Greetings: To our Secretary and Senior Panelist Imelda Reynolds who returns to the playing field after a year away nursing a cruciate ligament injury. During her year away with injury she took on the role of secretary of the club and did so much more than that fundraising behind the scenes. I would just like to say a big thank you to her and hope everybody appreciates what she does for our club. Her efforts this year have been immense. Also Happy Birthday to Nicole Conboy who steps up to the U/14 panel this year after a fantastically successful year with the U/12's last season, and to Naoise Hourican who turns 11 and was also part of last year's U/12 Panel. The trick this year Naoise is to equal last year's achievements.

Operation Transformation: Couch to 5K continues Mon Weds and Fri from the clubhouse.at 9 30am Aimed at getting us more active, the goal being to run a 5K at the end of it. It's nice to see that a lot of the participants are mothers of our underage girls, and you can see where our young ones get their stamina and enthusiasm from. Anyone is welcome, just turn up and enjoy. It's great fun and not too intense.
