Emmet Og club notes

November 28, 2016

Our under 21 team regained the championship title which we relinquished last year with a fantastic performance and victory over Clonguish in their home ground in Friday night. In a game in which we dominated from the off, goals from Ciaran Donohoe, Jamie King and Paddy Kiernan saw us home on a score line of 4-15 to 8 points. This was very much a team performance with everyone from our ever reliable goalkeeper Shane Fitzpatrick out playing excellently. This was our 6th under 21 championship final in a row with 4 victories after many barren years without an under 21 success. Well done to team and management.

Hard luck to Mullinalaughta who unfortunately bowed out of the Leinster championship on Sunday last after a hugely committed and determined performance against the Mighty St Vincent's. They have certainly done the county proud and proved that our best club teams are right up there with the best in the country.

Our lotto draw took place on Sunday night in the Olde Forge and the numbers drawn were 3.9. 12 and 19. There was no kackpot winner. €20 winners were Dermot Rowley, Dooroc, Sean McKenna, Knockloughlin, Wally Sullivan, Esker, Willie and Mary Brady, Dooroc and Kevin Cumiskey in the USA via our on line loto. This weeks sellers prize went to Brian Donohoe.  Thganks again to all who continue to support our lotto.

We offer our deepest sympathies to the Burke family, Newtownbond and the family of the late Jimmy Duignan, Glasnevin and Kiltyreehir.

Hearty congratulations to junior player Kevin Mollaghan and his wife Laura on the birth of their son at the weekend. Also congrats to former player Liam Brady and his wife Siobhan on the birth of their twin sons last week. Lots of future players coming on line please god.

Finally congratulations to Bridget Corrigan and Kenneth Gilsennan who got married at the weekend. We wish you a long and happy life together.
