Dromard club notes

October 17, 2016

Dromard 2-15 Carrickedmond 1-11. Well done to the senior panel and management on their important win over Carrickedmond in the promotion/relegation final played on Friday evening last in McGann Park, Kenagh. The win secures Dromard's division 1 status for 2017. This was a keenly contested game from start to finish with Dromard being put to the pin of their collar to overcome a very determined Carrickedmond side. Carrickedmond started the game impressively and opened up a 3 points to 1 lead after ten minutes. Dromard gradually came more into the game and scored a good goal, finished by James Martin, following good build-up play by Declan Mimnagh and Francis McGee. By half time Dromard was ahead by 1-8 to 0-5. The second half turned out to be an entertaining and free-flowing affair with Carrickedmond winning more possession and scoring a goal. Dromard managed to maintain a lead over their opponents in the second half and a second goal scored by Cian Mimnagh helped to secure this vital win. The team lined out as follows: Gavin McNerney, David Pettit, Niall Vance, Paul McGee, Peter Masterson, Peter Reynolds, John Sheridan, Diarmuid Masterson, Bernard Sheridan, Pauric Martin, Francis McGee, Ross McNerney, James Martin, Peter Mimnagh, Cian Mimnagh. Subs: Declan Mimnagh, James Mimnagh, Oisin Hourican,
