Emmet Og club notes

July 25, 2016

Our senior b team were in action in round 3 of the championship against Longford Slashers on Friday evening last. After a very entertaining game we came out on top on a scoreline of 2-12 to 0-13. Chief marksman was Paul O Hara with 2-3 to his name. We have now progressed to the knock out stages of this competition. Please see fixtures for the next round.

Next Sunday sees us kick off our senior championship campaign when we travel to Monaduff to take on Clonguish. Throw in is at 2pm. This is a very tricky fixture complicated by the absence of several first team regulars for various reasons. Please God we can get the championship off on a successful note.

On Monday evening next our reserve 3 team contest the league final against Ardagh/Moydow with throw in at Edgeworthstown at 6pm. This is a repeat of the last league fixture which our opponents won by a point in a very entertaining game.  Good luck to both teams.

Our lotto draw took place on Sunday night in Begleys and the numbers drawn were 5,7,11 and 29. There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Mary Thompson, Aughaboy, Padraig Reynolds, Soran, Maura Maguire, Esker, Pat Doherty, Stonepark and Geraldine Mahon, Newtownforbes. This weeks sellers prize went to Liam Halpin. Next weeks draw for a jackpot of €3,100 will take place in the Olde Forge on night.

Finally we offer our deepest sympathies to the Reynolds and Keogh families on the tragic death of Joseph Reynolds last week. We also send our condolences to the Toher, Feeney and Goram families on their bereavements last week.
