Emmet Og club notes

April 25, 2016

On  may the 8th in conjunction with the Gaa nationally we will host Là Na gClub which will consist of a day of fun filled activities in Emmet Park for all the family which is highlighting the value placed upon our clubs and the families who run them by the Gaa.  We will have  a host of underage games, blitzes and fun filled competitions throughout the day involving all our under age squads before our senior ladies  play a challenge on the main pitch at 2pm. The highlight of the day will be the Mìchael Kiernan memorial cup which we will play at 4pm against one of our fiercest local rivals. The day will culminate with music and refreshments in the Olde Forge after the game.  A full line up for the day will be in our notes next weekend.

Our senior team had a fine win over Mostrim in the senior league on Wednesday evening last while our juniors had a great win also over Fr. Manning Gaels on Sundayafternoon. Both games were away from home so to pick up points on the road was notable.

This coming week our reserve junior team play Kenagh on Wednesday evening in Emmet Park at 8.30pm. Our seniors are away to Colmcille on Friday evening in the league at 7.30p. while our juniors have a tricky tie at home to Longford Slashers on Sunday next at 1pm. This is also in the league.

Our lotto draw took place on Sunday night in The Olde Forge and the numbers drawn were 7, 10, 21 and 29.There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Ann Murray, Fintan Kiernan, Newtownforbes, James Hughes, Corlea, Grace Lee, Aughaboy and Justin Kiernan, New York.  Joe Leonard, Esker took this weeks sellers prize. Thanks again to all who support our lotto in any of its many guises. The lotto funding is our only source of week by week income and is vital in keeping the club on the road. Next weeks draw for a jackpot of €1,800 will take place in Begley's bar on Sunday with Berney Bradys team on duty.
