Underage Success: Pride of place this week goes to St. Patrick's N.S. Dromard who emerged victorious in their mixed league final against neighbour's Colmcille on Saturday last after an exciting battle in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park (Saturday 14th November at 1:15 pm). Conditions were very poor from the start with heavy rain and wind, but Dromard raced into a 3 point lead only to be pegged back by a goal towards the end of the first half. This left the teams level at half time. In the second half, Dromard again started strongly and played intelligent football. Dromard were 3 points ahead towards the end of the second half when Colmcille scored an unstoppable goal from a free kick 20 yards out leaving the teams level 0-8 to 2-2 at full time. Heading into extra time Colmcille, had the momentum but the boys and girls of Dromard refused to be beaten and got the crucial winning score through Oisín O' Toole who went on to lift the cup on behalf of the team. It was the work rate and determination of the children from Dromard that won the game in the end. Congratulations to all the players, management and parents involved on this great achievement. The final and celebrations afterwards were videoed and the video has been sent out to subscribers to our Annual Lotto. The Dromard panel for this game was as follows: Alan Corcoran, Orlaith McGauran, James Brady, Thomas Maguire, Rory O' Toole, Avril Cosgrove, Nicole Conboy, Oisín O' Toole, Matt Duffy, Niamh O' Brien, Órfhlaith Mulligan, Ryan O' Connor, Christopher Grimes, Ronan Corcoran, Callum MacEntire, Gavin Reilly, Cathy Conefrey, Brianna Murphy, James Garvey, Liam Carragher, Odhrán Gray, Shane O' Hara.
