Emmet Og club notes

August 24, 2015

We had a very busy weekend just gone with our junior and senior teams in championship quarter finals on Friday and Sunday evening respectively. On Friday evening our junior team took on Cashel in Emmet Park. In what was a total mismatch of a game, we ran out very convincing winners. We now face either Longford Slashers or Mostrim in the semi final and this game is sure to be a much stiffer test.

On Sunday evening in terrible weather conditions we faced up to St. Columbas in the senior quarter final in Pearse Park. For much of the game we played second fiddle to a fine Mullinalaughta team who had a fantastic start with an early goal. Throughout we struggled to pull this goal back and were either behind or level at all stages. However with light fading and a minute of normal time left, up stepped Larry Moran with a screamer of a goal from a tight angle on the left hand side to finally put us in front by 2 points. We added  a further point in injury time to finally see off a very good St. Columbas team. Hard luck to Mullinalaughta, who must be wondering how they managed to lose this game. Lots of room for improvement for the KIlloe boys. Well done to players and management involved with both teams.

Our lotto draw took place on Sunday night in the Olde Forge and the numbers drawn were 4, 14, 17 and 18. There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Padraig Dennigan, Longford, David Moonan, Ardnacassa Lawns, Ann Rose Reilly, Cornadrung, Mike Carrigy, Killoe and New York, and Laurie Walker, C/O Pat The Baker. This weeks sellers prize went to Ann Murray. Next weeks draw for a jackpot of €5,200 will take place in Begley's bar on Sunday night.
