Emmet Og club notes

July 20, 2015

We got our senior championship off to a good start with victory over Mostrim on Friday evening last.  The game saw a return to senior competitive action for Padraig McCormack as well as senior championship debuts for Ciaran Donohoe, Liam Hughes, Gary Connell and John Lynch. In a game that we controlled throughout, Sean McCormack turned on the style with 6 points to ensure vctory. Well done Declan and all involved. We have been paired against Longford Slashers in the next round and this is sure to be a much more difficult proposoiton. The game is again in Ballinalee and is on Sunday at 2.30pm.

Our junior team also commence their championship on Sunday when we welcome Carrickedmond to Emmet Park at 12 pm. We wish both teams the best of luck.

Last weekend we hosted a double header of Championship games at Emmet Park on what was a very wet and miserable evening. We wish to thank local landowners who volunteered their land for parking as well as all who assisted with the running of the event.

Well done to our under 14 team who had a fine win in the under 14 league final over Longford Slashers on Sunday.

Our minor club are currently holding their annual fundraising clothing collection which will end this Saturday. All clean clothing, bedlinen, books, mobile phones, etc are welcome and  a representative of the minor club will be on hand in Emmet Park each evening this week between 7.30pm and 8pm to collect items.
