Devlin welcomes home comforts

Longford minor manager Tony Devlin is hoping to make the most of home advantage in their Leinster MFC semi-final clash against Meath on Saturday.

Devlin's charges are back in action after a lengthy lay off due to the Leaving Cert exams, but he has been pleased by the preparation for the game and is hoping that Pearse Park can be a caldron.

"We have worked around the exams and hopefully we have done enough to keep things ticking over. We tried to organise things around the weekends; give them the opportunity to get away from the books. Just to let them get together as well as a group; bit of camaraderie," Devlin told the Longford Leader.

"It's great to have a provincial semi-final at home. We knew at this stage of the championship we were going to get one of the so-called 'big guns'.

"To get them at home is a plus and hopefully it will be worth something to us. The players love playing Pearse Park and it's something to look forward to."
