Lotto:  There was no jackpot winner this week. The numbers drawn were: 10, 21, 24, 25. €20 draw winners were Niamh Dillon, Mary Ellen Gray, Kathleen McHugh and Packie Joe Rudden. The sellers Prize was won by Frank Smith. Next week's jackpot stands at €6,700 and will be drawn in the Clubhouse on Monday 8th June at 9pm.

Sympathy: The Club was saddened to learn of the passing of Thomas (Tommy) Reilly (Corrickmaquirk) on Saturday 6th June. Tommy was a popular member of the club and local community and he lined out on the 1946 team that claimed the club's first Longford Senior Football Championship title following a replay. After his playing days were over, Tommy was a dedicated clubman and Dromard supporter and was very knowledgeable on GAA and footballing affairs. A special presentation was made to Tommy at our Christmas Ball in the Breffni Arms only last December, and also to Charlie Murtagh, Clonelly, in recognition of their significant contribution to winning the 1946 Senior County Title. Tommy will be greatly missed by everyone in the Dromard club and in the local community.  Tommy was predeceased by his brothers Fr Michael & Charlie, and sister Bridget. The club extends its sympathy to Tommy's wife Kathleen, his sister Margaret, brothers Eddie, Felix (U.S.A.) and John (Birmingham), sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and friends. Division 1: Cashel 1-9 Dromard 5-6. Well done to our senior team who recorded a win over Cashel at Páirc Chiarán on Friday evening last (5th June) in the fifth game of their Division 1 campaign. The match was notable for the fine scoring performance of Declan Mimnagh who finished the game with a tally of 3 goals and 3 points. Ronan McEntire also found the net from a penalty with the other Dromard goal scored by Diarmuid Masterson. The team lined out as follows: Gavin McNerney, Peter Masterson, John Sheridan, Paul McGee, Enda Kiernan, Davit Petit, Niall Vance, Diarmuid Masterson, Ronan McEntire, James Mimnagh, Emmet Masterson, Bernard Sheridan, James Martin, Declan Mimnagh, Pauric Martin. Subs: Michael Reilly, Conor Duffy, Alan McLoughlin.

Dromard U14: St. Francis U14 Team played the semi-final on Thursday last at home against a spirited Ballymanhon/Forgney outfit, which was well refereed by Enda Murphy. The Ballymahon/Forgney side were first off the mark with a well taken point, after St. Francis had dominated the first few minutes. St Francis won a lot of position around midfield with good performance from Karl McNerney and Gareth O'Hara. With both teams exchanging points, Ballymahon ran into a 3 point lead with twenty minutes on the clock and they could have a lot more, except for Ollie Duffy in goal making some excellent saves. This Dromard U14 Team don't panic and a well worked goal by Aaron Darcy brought Dromard back into the game and Dromard dominated the last five minutes of the game with another ball hitting the back of the net from Aaron Darcy, to leave the half-time score Dromard 2-2, Ballymahon/Forgney 0-4. The forwards kicked over a few useful scores at the start of the second half, with Conor McGarahan, Aaron Farrell and Ciaran Murphy all scoring goals. With the Dromard defence on top, it looked like Dromard were going to run out easy winners, but a serious injury to Garath O'Hara and Conor McGarahan meant that Dromard had to shuffle the deck. Ballymahon/Forgney came more into the game with two excellent goals, but again Dromard backs came to the rescue and took control of the last few minutes to win the game by five points. St Francis backs had got on top, with excellent performance for backs Fionn Hourican, Liam Donohoe and Stephen Donohoe. Conor McGarahan dominated at center half back, until injured, well assisted by Oisin O'Tool and Jason Grimes. The ability of the forward line to kick scores, proved the difference at the end of the game, with some excellent scores from Aaron Darcy, Aaron Farrell and Danial Conboy (0-1) causing lots of issues for the Ballymahon/Forgney half backs. Ciaran Murphy, Matt Duffy and Joshua Gray were always a treat with Mat Duffy kicking over four points. Callum McEntire, Ryan O'Connor, Colin Pailin and Cathail Reilly into All made excellent contributions when called into Action. St Francis ability on the ball and their ability to tackle without giving away frees was of a very high standard. A speedy recovery to Garath O'Hara and Conor McGarahan who got injured and will be out for a few weeks.

5k Walk: Longford GAA in Conjunction with its Health and Well Being Committee will host a 5k walk on July 4th in Aid of the Samaritans. The walk will commence from Pearse Park @ 8am and will follow the Bypass and Mall route finishing in Pearse Park, there will be a light breakfast served afterwards. The walk is not a race!!! It is a Social event to help people meet and have a walk and chat. Registration fee is €10 and all proceeds will be donated to The Samaritans who are working closely with the GAA on a National Level. The aim of the walk is to promote Health and Wellness among our GAA family and wider Community. All children participating must be accompanied by an adult.  Please support.

U13 All County Competition: The Longford U13 Competition concluded on Thursday last as Dromard, playing with St. Colmcilles as North Longford, contested the Shield final against another Regional team in East Longford (Clonbroney, Wolfe Tones Óg & St. Vincents). East Longford started the stronger but early in the second half the north Longford combination raced clear as we built up an 11 point lead mid way through the second half only for East Longford to mount a serious comeback which just fell short in the end as North Longford won by the minimum. Despite a slow start, the Dromard/St. Colmcilles combination got better as the games went on and made the most of the scoring chances especially some well-taken goals by Aaron Farrell. Once again the bedrock to the team's performance was the excellent defending as all the players put their body on the line at various times to make last ditch blocks. This was a super competition for our players who got to play at a higher level and against better teams and its great to see we are more than capable of playing at this level and as Longford GAA plan to continue with these Regional Tournaments. Congratulations to all the players and the management of Paul Hourican, Peter Darcy, Gabriel Macken and Brendan Reilly on this success.

U12 Competitions: Next week see's the commencement of the U12 league season as Dromard take part in the Longford Leitrim Division 2 competition. Dromard's first round game is versus Annaduff on Tuesday the 9th and on Thursday the 11th June Dromard are at home to Kiltubrid with both games taking place at 7:30pm.

Gum Shields: Players are reminded that the wearing of gum shields is now mandatory. Failure to wear a gum shield has implications for possible insurance payments in the event of an injury.
