Longford GAA has received funding of €39,000 from Croke Park.
In a GAA financial report released, Longford, Leitrim and Tyrone all received €39,000, which was at the lower end of the scale for county boards.
Longford GAA secretary said: "Well of course we would love to be getting a bit more money. No one would ever refuse more funding but what it comes down to is population difference.
"If you take for example a club like Kilmacud Crokes, they have a base of 40,000 while in Longford we have an overall population of between 30,000 and 40,000.
"As well as that, we have two full-time coaches whereas they would have maybe three or four full-time coaches in Crokes. The bigger the population, the more coaches you have and therefore that demands greater investment."
