Dromard club notes

Dromard
Seniors;  The semi final of the Leader Cup takes place in Pairc NaGeal this Sunday at 2:30pm. Great credit to the Senior players and management in automatically qualifing directly into the semi final as a result of winning the Senior League recently. This is considerably one of the biggest games in a decade to be played by our senior team in their home venue.  Dromard play the winners of Abbeylara v Fr. Manning Geals who play each other tonight Wednesday the 8th in the Quarter Final in  Monaduff at 9pm.
Ladies; Hard luck to the understrength ladies team in Leinster championship who were up against an amalgamation of four parishes, but it clearly shows there is a lot to build on for next year with the huge success they have had in this year's Junior Championship.

Dromard
Junior Club championship; Although this quarter final was possibly a step too far for the girls, the dedication they have shown made them Longford Junior Champions and they can take great pride in bringing that back to Dromard. On a personal note I would like to say a big thank you to the girls on this panel who gave freely of their time to train our younger members, and I hope the trophies won by our under 12 panel and our under 16 panel gave you satisfaction in a job. Well done. I don't think you realise the ambition you kindle in these young ones and they were all delighted to watch you lift the cup in Pearse Park. You are their heroes and for that reason alone you deserve the success and enjoyment you have had this season both on and off the park. Well done to you all. The players would like to sincerely thank Paul & Nicky for their time & commitment in bringing us to success and the committee for their support throughout the year. We look forward to the challenge of playing intermediate next year. - Bernie Greene
