SFC: who will join Killoe in final?

September 11, 2014

St Columba's and Clonguish will meet at Pearse Park on Sunday evening to see who faces Killoe in the 2014 Longford SFC final.

The men from Mullinalaghta have been knocking on the door for some time and now find themselves within an hour of their first final appearance since 1952.

This weekend's game will in fact be the north county club's first semi-final appearance in over 60 years and their manager Gerry Lynn from Mostrim is confident that they can go all the way.

But Mickey Graham's charges will be battle-hardened, having already taken on and beaten the likes of holders Longford Slashers and Colmcille in the competition, after losing their opener to Dromard.

If the game is half as good as last week's semi-final, then we are in for a treat. In an amazing match at the county grounds on Sunday last, Killoe Emmet Og defeated Dromard by 2-18 to 2-15.
