The Connolly Cup will have a new home this year after holders Longford Slashers were dethroned by Killoe in this evening's SFC quarter-final at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.

2012 winners Killoe prevailed by 0-11 to 1-4 after laying the foundations for their victory in the first half when they built up a 0-7 to 0-1 lead. County star Sean McCormack got three of their first half points, while Mark Hughes, Larry Moran, Denis McGoldrick and Mickey Quinn were also on the mark.

Slashers reduced the deficit to the minimum, 1-3 to 0-7, after Martin Nevin netted early in the second half, but Emmet Og kept their composure to qualify for a semi-final meeting with Dromard on Sunday, September 7.

Ross McNerney bagged 1-6 as Dromard edged out Colmcille 1-10 to 1-9 in the first of the quarter-finals last night. Barry McKeon accounted for 1-5 of the losers' tally.
