Rathcline Club Notes

June 30, 2014
The world cup scratch cards are selling well, and we would like to thank everyone who has purchased tickets. You are in with a chance of winning €500 if you have the ticket that has the exact time of the first goal in this years world cup final. Thanks to all our diligent sellers and a big push is needed over the coming weeks to get all the tickets sold. We would urge the parish to get behind this fundraiser as money raised will go towards the loan on pitch.

The intermediate team have a tough league match against Ballymore on Friday in Clonbonny. Please check our facebook page and fixture list for details. The best of luck to the lads.

There was no winner of the Rathcline Lotto this week. The numbers drawn were 1, 5, 29, 31, 34, and 37. The lucky €25 winners were Mary Chapman Lisnacusha, Kevin and Caroline Madden, Rathcline Road, Gerard Farrell Gardenstown, and James & Cathal Mulvihill Newtowncashel.

Rathcline Minor Club

Our minors lost to Northern Gaels and Clonguish this week in the division 1 league. The lads played well in both games against strong opposition. The U 16's ply in the special league on Tuesday evening. U 14 training continues Tuesday and Saturdays. The club would also like to encourage more parents to U 6, U 8, and U 10 training and matches. The kids have been putting in a fine effort over the last few weeks and are a credit to their parish, thanks to the coaches also!

The U 12 match versus Faithleachs is Monday in Clonbonny, please be in Clonbonny for 7.30. The next game is against Ballymahon on Thursday, we would like to ask parents to meet at Clonbonny at 6 pm, to pool lifts for the players.

Rathcline Ladies Club

Well done to our U 12 team who defeated Colmcille in the first game of the summer league. It was hard luck to the U 16 ladies as Ballymahon defeated them in the A championship semi final last Thursday. The team had a poor 1st half and were always chasing the game. But they did themselves proud with a gutsy 2nd half display, with at one stage the Rathcline ladies a point up. Ballymahon drew away again with 10 minutes left and the Rathcline ladies couldn't break down the Ballymahon defence. Thanks to the team for their wonderful effort all year, to all the parents and supporters who have followed the girls through out the season, and a special thanks to the management team of Steve Peters, Padhraig Farrell, Brendan O Sullivan and Marie Peters.

Our clothes collection continues and is a worthwhile fundraiser, all clothes welcome!please contact Madeline or Mike to organise.
