Longford minors are busy working away ahead of the Leinster MFC opener against Dublin on Saturday week.

Last weekend, the midlanders concluded their Connacht league campaign with a 1-08 to 1-04 win over Sligo at the Slashers grounds.

This meant that Longford have only lost one competitive game this year and that was to Galway, so the management team can be pleased with their progress ahead of the clash against Dublin.

Manager Gareth Johnson and his selectors have run the rule over a number of players during the Connacht league and they will be quietly confident of upsetting the odds at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park on Easter Saturday. Tweet
