Longford senior selector Mickey Harkins has been appointed as the county's new Under 21 football manager for the 2009 season. The Longford County Board confirmed the appointment at last week's monthly meeting and is set to be assisted by Dessie Barry (Longford Slashers) and Padraic Davis (Fr Manning Gaels) as selectors in his backroom team. Longford open their Leinster Under 21 championship campaign at home to Wicklow on February 8. Tweet
