Dromard club notes

August 10, 2020

Senior Championship: Dromard 0-14 St Marys Granard 1-11: Well done to our senior football panel and to Padraig Brady and his management team on securing a hard-earned draw against Granard in the first round of the championship on Saturday evening in Lynch Park, Abbeylara. The teams were level at half time (8 points apiece) but Granard opened up a four-point advantage in the early stages of the second half. Dromard continued to work hard and fought their way back into the game with points from Ross McNerney and Francis McGee reducing the deficit. A Joseph Hagan point with time almost up gave Dromard the lead but, in an exciting finale, Granard scored a late point to leave the sides level at the final whistle.
