Dromard club notes

December 09, 2019

Sympathy: Dromard GAA extends its sympathy to the Murtagh family and to Kitty Hagan and the extended Hagan family on the death of Patsy Murtagh, Glenmore. The club offers its condolences to the family and friends of Laurie Pike, Crott, who passed away last week. Laurie was a great supporter of Dromard GAA since moving to the area some years ago. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anamneacha.

Monthly Members Draw: Thank you to all those who have already signed up for next year’s draw. Entry for the draw will be closing soon and so we ask those who have yet to renew your subscriptions to please do so in the coming week to make sure you’re included. You can sign up by logging on to https://clubforce.com/dromardmonthlydraw. You can also sign up by filling out a registration form which is available in the Clubhouse or from any member of the Club executive. The funds raised from the draw go directly to meeting the running costs of the Club and to the upkeep of the facilities at Páirc na nGael. One year’s membership costs €100. A guaranteed €800 will be given away in each monthly draw. In addition, subscribers will receive 2020 Membership of Dromard GAA Club, access to the weekly Club Newsletter and entry into the draw for All Ireland Hurling and Football Final tickets.

AGM: The AGM of Dromard GAA club will take place on Sunday 22nd December at 7pm in the Clubhouse. Nomination forms for club officer positions are available now in Corrigans and Moyne Cross stores. Christmas Celebration: Dromard GAA will hold a function on Friday 27th December at 7.30pm in the Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva. The function will mark two significant milestones in the Club’s history – the 40th anniversary of Dromard’s 1979 Intermediate Championship victory and the 20th anniversary of our Senior Championship success in 1999. We hope that as many of our supporters as possible will be able to join us on the night. Further details to come. O’Byrne Cup: Well done to the Longford senior footballers on their fine win over Kildare in Newbridge on Saturday and especially to Dromard’s Joseph Hagan who had an excellent game, scoring 1-3. Best of luck to all the payers and to Dromard’s Danny O’Toole and to Padraic Davis and the rest of his management and backroom team.
