Longford manager Padraic Davis wants to begin the new season with a win.

The 2020 campaign gets underway on Saturday as the O’Byrne Cup begins with Longford having to travel to Newbridge to face Kildare.

Despite going into the game as underdogs, Davis has stressed that regardless of the team that he and his selectors put out, they will be going for the win.

“I don’t know how strong Kildare will be but Jack O’Connor will probably be anxious to start his reign with a win and this this is going to be a tough task,” Davis told the Longford Leader.

“We will give it a good crack in the quest to produce a positive performance and a few of our younger players will be in action in Newbridge.”
